Compression Wear Compression shirts and shorts are a type of mens work out clothes that are designed to be tight. Spandex is a common material and often you will see spandex shorts worn as an under layer. Compression wear is excellent for providing support and help keep muscles warm. They can also act as a barrier between your skin and the outer garment which can help reduce chaffing of the skin.

Wearing the right clothing can make the difference between an enjoyable workout and an hour of misery. And investing in some stylish yet comfortable workout clothing is the perfect motivation to get you moving , whether you’re hitting the gym, heading for the hills or exercising in the comfort of your own home. Wear something you are comfortable moving and stretching in.

Exercise with confidence knowing the work out clothes you are wearing are going to work as hard as you.

As a general guideline, avoid cotton clothing for serious workouts. Cotton is fine for relaxing but it inevitably will collect moisture while you work out and it does not breathe like modern synthetic materials. If you are only doing extremely light work outs then give cotton a go in the beginning because it is so much cheaper than synthetics.

Polyester is a good option due to it’s light weight and ability to breathe. It does not shrink easily and is softer than nylon. However it may get a bit tatty quickly due to its tendency to pill. You may also notice you get more static shocks with this fabric.

Spandex or Lycra as it is commonly known today is a very common material for work out clothes as it stretches and is very lightweight. However the blends are by far the best as you get the best of both worlds. So for example a shirt made from a blend of lycra and polyester would be breathable and stretch to accommodate even the most vigorous of workouts and yet would be able to be machine washed and dried without pilling.
